
Chairman Change Up
On June 26, 2008, IACCE Chairman Michael Malone of the McLean County Chamber, stepped down from chairman of the IACCE board as he gets ready to move to another chamber in TN. We wish him the best and welcome the new 2008 - 2009 IACCE chair, Lynne Schneider. Lynne is currently the chair-elect of the board and will fullfill Mike's unfinished 2008 term and complete her full 2009 term. Lynne is with the Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce.
2009 and 2010 RFP's for Fall Conference Bids Extended - July 30
IACCE Board of Directors voted to extend the deadline for the 2009 and 2010 Fall Conference Request for Proposal until July 30. If you are still interested in submitting a bid, please let IACCE know and respond with a proposal to the RFP: Request for Proposal can be found here in a word document. Only IACCE members can submit a proposal.
Scholarships
ACCE's scholarship deadline has past, but IACCE is now accepting applications for the 2008 Fall Conference! Make plans to join us and download the 2008 Scholarship forms today!
NEW Web Forum and Resource Center Login
IACCE continues to update their Web Forum and Resource Center. The example center is under the resource section of IACCE.org and the web forum can be accessed on the main header above. Both are password protected member only sections. Can't remember your login and password? Password and login can be accessed by e-mailing IACCE's staff if you are a member in good standing.
Committee/Division Updates
Government Affairs: Division is discussing the impact the Constitutional Convention would have on chambers and business. Read more at http://www.iacce.org/governmentaffairsdivision.php.
Communication: IACCE's communication committee is updating their publications and writing a new one. A sample policy handbook and sample by laws will be published and released to IACCE members at Fall Conference. We are looking for a list of policies your chamber has in its policy manual. Gearing up for 2008 Awards
IACCE is gearing up for the 2008 awards season. Know someone who should be nominated for the Chamber executive of the year award (Brann Award)... nominate them! Have you been in the industry for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35+ years? Let us know at info@iacce.org. IACCE also has an Accreditation process for chamber executives and staff. Consider being part of the IACCE awards season and apply!

IACCE Fall Conference Speaker Update!
IACCE announced in May that Bob Harris was coming back to Illinois for the following sessions:
- 2008 - The Year of the Policy Manual
- Six Operating Manuals for Every Association
Now, in July, we are excited to announce Cathi Hight! Cathy is a speaker at ACCE Convention and US Chamber institute and will be visiting IACCE's Fall Conference on Thursday, November 6 for the following sessions. Cathy Hight's sessions are being sponsored by Pioneer Press/Sun Times Group.

Record Number of Chambers Earn IACCE Accreditation in 2007
Six chamber executives earned the IACCE Accreditation and were awarded their certificates and pins during the 2007 IACCE Annual Luncheon. IACCE President, Liz Kerns, said, "We have never had 6 chamber professionals apply and earn the IACCE accreditation in one year before! IACCE is so proud of our newest ACE earners and hope this inspires more executives and staff to apply for accreditation in 2008!"
The six who were awarded their ACE in 2007 were Ginny Fanning (Jacksonville), Lynne Schneider (Buffalo Grove), Kim Schilf (Lincoln Park), James Uszler (Mt. Prospect), Sally Rutledge-Ott (Aurora) and Peg Kenyon (Aurora).
We are so proud of you all! Congrats!
